Darwin Convention Centre Launches Its First Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan

The Darwin Convention Centre is proud to announce the launch of its first Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) for 2025-2026, following formal endorsement from Reconciliation Australia.

Our team celebrated the exciting milestone together as part of National Reconciliation Week, joined by Victor Williams, Deputy CEO of Larrakia Nation, who shared a few inspiring words.

The Centre’s Reflect RAP underscores our commitment to reconciliation and support for local First Nations organisations. It has been developed to provide our team with a structured framework to guide measurable actions and achieve meaningful outcomes on our journey towards reconciliation.

Darwin Convention Centre General Manager, Peter Savoff, shares his thoughts on the significance of reconciliation and the importance it plays in the Centre’s business operations.

“We are proud to operate as a meeting place on Larrakia land, attracting visitors from across the world to connect on Garramilla Country. With this in mind, we acknowledge our responsibility to conduct business in a manner that honours the rich heritage of the Larrakia people, Traditional Owners of the Darwin region. We accomplish this by engaging with local Elders through consultation on reconciliation initiatives and working closely with local First Nations organisations, to provide those visiting our venue with enriching cultural experiences and a deeper respect and understanding of local Larrakia culture.

“Through the development of this RAP, our team has taken the time to reflect on its reconciliation journey to date and identify opportunities to enhance our engagement with First Nations peoples.”
