Physical Access and Mobility

The Darwin Convention Centre provides a seamless path of travel from outdoor to indoor areas, featuring level access and doorways with a minimum width of 800 mm.

All levels are fully accessible via lifts, while specialised facilities on the Ground Level include accessible toilets equipped with outward-swinging doors, lever handles and compliant grab rails.

Navigation and Communication

Navigating the venue is made easy through clear signage, Braille-integrated lifts, and an accessible automatic entrance located to the left of the main foyer. All levels are fully reachable via lift or ramp.

The Centre works closely with event organisers to facilitate communication needs like live captioning and Auslan interpretation.

Dietary Requirements

We strive to provide a positive dining experience for all guests by offering various dietary-friendly menu selections.

Please contact your event organiser to discuss any allergies, intolerances, or specific preferences so that appropriate arrangements can be made.

Additional Considerations

The venue offers a flexible environment with adjustable evening lighting and a wide selection of furniture to accommodate diverse physical requirements.

While the building is easily reached via step-free paths from local bus interchanges, guests should be aware that the seasonal Waterfront Shuttle does not currently support wheelchairs.

Sensory elements like music volume and strobe lighting are determined by individual event organisers, however we can work with you to ensure specific comfort and seating needs are met for delegates.
