The Reintegration Puzzle: Identity and Culture After Prison
June 26, 2019
June 28, 2019
On behalf of Deakin University and the conference organising committee welcome to the 15th Reintegration Puzzle Conference to be held in Darwin, Northern Territory, 26th – 28th June 2019. The theme for the conference is “Identity and Culture after Prison”.
This year the conference will focus on the role identity and culture play in reintegration after prison. The way that society views people who have been imprisoned impacts on the opportunities they’re offered and the barriers they face. How can services and supports work effectively with people who experience stigma and discrimination so that they can build lives away from prison? How does culture impact on people’s experience of leaving prison?
The role people with lived experience of prison can play in changing systems will be explored once again.
A range of networking and learning events will be available to delegates.
June is a beautiful time to visit the Northern Territory and we encourage you to take some extra time to explore Darwin and its surrounds.
