The award winning Northern Australia Food Futures Conference is currently underway at the Darwin Convention Centre.
The conference focuses on how public and private sectors can develop agriculture in the north operating:
- 43% of Australia’s land mass
- 60% of Australia’s available irrigation water
- Australia’s largest Indigenous communities
- 1.4 million ha of arable soils
Lead by NT Farmers, the conference provides the opportunity to hear from 45 different speakers across Australia, including 6 Federal and State Ministers, leaders of associations, academics and farmers.
In addition to plenary sessions, the attendees will be visiting local producers on a range of field tours including barramundi, mangoes and other tropical fruit farms.
