Jam Doughnuts

Enjoy this easy and incredibly delicious recipe for jam doughnuts from our award-winning culinary team.


  • 490gms Plain Flour
  • 55gms Caster Sugar
  • 3tsp Dried Yeast
  • 250ml Milk
  • 100gms Butter
  • 3 Egg Yolks
  • 2ltr Canola Oil
  • 284gms Strawberry Jam
  • 20gms Cinnamon
  • 200gms Caster Sugar
  • 5gms Salt



Combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt in a bowl. Once combined, make a well. Mix in the milk, butter, and egg yolks until the dough starts to come together. It may be sticky.

Knead on a well-floured surface until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover and prove for 1 1/2 hours or until dough has doubled in size.

Punch down the dough and knead on a lightly floured surface for 2 minutes or until smooth.

Roll out the dough to 1cm thick. Rest the dough for 2 minutes. Cut out discs using a 7 cm Round Cutter.

Place on a lined baking tray and set aside for 30 minutes to prove one last time.

Make sure your pot of oil is on, and it reaches 300°F.

Deep fry for 1 minute on each side or until golden and puffed.

Place on a tray with a paper towel to catch excess oil before rolling.

Combine your cinnamon and sugar together in a bowl and roll doughnuts in sugar. Spoon strawberry jam into a piping bag with a 5mm nozzle fitted. Push nozzle into the doughnut and pipe in jam.

Makes 18 doughnuts.
